Recent Publications

OR55 Conference: Exeter, 3rd-5th Sepetmber 2013

OR55 was the annual conference of the Operational Research Society this year held in Exeter University. The conference covered a wide range of topics related to operational research, data science and, of course, analytics for which there were two specifc streams. Research from this research was presented as part of the Business Analytics, Optimisation and Big Data stream on Thursday 5th September.

East Midlands Networking & Project Showcase Event: Loughborough, 1st May 2013

The Showcase Event bought practitioners and academics in Operational Research (OR) from the East Midlands area for networking and a poster display. The link below gives access to a poster submitted on behalf of the ORATER project detailing the research being conducted and seeking to encourage support for the project.

The poster is an adaptation of the poster submitted to the Loughborough Research that Matters Conference (below). This poster has been adapted for an OR audience and the second poster (lower down the page) would better suit a more general audience.

YoungOR 18 Conference: Exeter, 9th-11th April 2013

The YoungOR conference brings together young academics and professionals starting there careers in OR. The conference featured seminars, workshops and presentations regarding a wide range of themes, including for the first time an analytics stream. As part of this stream a presentation was given on the definition of analytics and it relationship with OR, based upon the work of this project.

Research that Matters Conference: Loughborough, 7th March 2013

The Research that Matters Conference, held at Loughborough University, brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines for presentations, workshops and with a poster competition. As part of the latter, a poster presenting the purposes and questions of this research project was presented and is available as a download below.
